Eric Verschuren M.Sc.

PhD candidate
Eric Verschuren

Eric Verschuren obtained his MSc degree in Medical Biotechnology at the Wageningen University in 2016. He performed his BSc thesis at the Department of Human Genetics (Leiden University Medical Center), where he investigated cyst formation in PKD mouse models. He performed his first master internship at the Department of Molecular Biology (Wageningen University) gaining first-hand experience using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. Next, he finished his MSc thesis at the Department of Tumor Immunology (Radboud university medical center), using extensive molecular cloning techniques to generate a novel tool for tracking and studying antigen cross-presentation by dendritic cells in mice. For his last internship he joined the Department of Physiology (Radboud university medical center), investigating the role of potassium in TRPM6-mediated magnesium transport. Currently, he is working as a PhD candidate, applying and expanding his knowledge in molecular biology, to study renal molecular transport mechanisms regulated by Polycystin-1 and primary cilia.
